Horton Automatics has designed and manufactured automatic doors since 1960 when it developed the first automatic sliding door in America and gave birth to an industry through the pioneering work of Lew Hewitt and Dee Horton. Today, Horton Automatics offers the industry’s broadest line of doors for commercial, industrial and institutional applications exceeding the requirements of major codes in the United States, including metro Dade and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Horton has operations in Corpus Christi and Telford, England and sells its products in more than 70 countries.
At its 150,000 square-foot Baldwin Boulevard facility in Corpus Christi, Horton Automatics manufactures automatic entrances, including sliding doors, swinging doors, folding doors, revolving doors, service windows, security vision systems, electronic controls and operators, automated people mover transit doors and vehicle door operators. Horton’s products are installed worldwide at restaurants, airports, hospitals, hotels, casinos, offices and convenience stores; as well as at some unique locations, such as at the “Back to the Future Ride” at Universal Studios, “Star Trek Ride” at the Hilton Hotel Las Vegas and the “Tower of Terror Ride” at Disney World.
