    • Steel Dynamics, Inc. has announced the construction of a $1.9 billion steel mill with over 600 permanent high paying jobs. (Map Location)
    • Gulf Coast Growth Ventures, a joint venture between ExxonMobil and SABIC,have announced that the Corpus Christi region has been selected as the site for their world-scale ethane cracker facility. This project will involve $9.48 billion in new investment, and over 600 permanent highly-paid jobs. (Map Location)
    • EPIC Y-Grade has announced the construction of a fractionator that is at the end of a 600-mile pipeline starting in New Mexico. They plan to invest $200 million and create at least 10 full-time jobs. EPIC stands for Eagle Ford, Permian, Ingleside, Corpus Christi. (Map Directions)
    • Four Pipelines have been announced that will bring oil and condensates to the Corpus Christi area. These pipelines will require additional infrastructure in the region to handle the product that is coming down from the Permian Basin and the Eagle Ford Shale.
    • Plains Terminals has begun construction on their $200 million condensate storage and dock facility. Plains submitted a permitting application package to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the dock to be constructed as part of the Plains Terminals Corpus Christi facility at 5500 Up River Road.
    • Tex-Isle is in the construction phase of their $30M facility, creating 100 new jobs (Map Location)
    • Trafigura, Plains Marketing, and Martin Midstream are adding significant investment in storage tanks for product flowing out of the Eagle Ford Shale. These investments represent over $1 billion in new investments within our region.
    • The Chemours Company is commissioning their $230M facility that will manufacture the follow on to their current refrigerant product. They will increase their head count by 65 new jobs. (Map Location)
    • Replacement of the Harbor Bridge will be a $1B investment with a proposed height of 205 feet. Contracts were rewarded to Flatiron/Dragdos, LLC and will provide access to larger ships in and out of the port. They have started sinking pilings for the bridge.
    • Steel Dynamics is investing $1.9B investment in a flat roll steel mill, with over 600 full time employees at an average salary of $86,000/ year.

    • TexStar has completed construction of their $100 Million gas fractionation plant. (Map Location)
    • Cheniere Energy has completed their federal and state permitting for their proposed LNG export facility in San Patricio County, with a 4-year construction timeline. The first phase of construction started in Q1 2016. This $14.5 billion project is by far the largest project in the region at this time. Upon completion, this facility will create 250+ new full-time jobs. (Map Location)
    • Corpus Christi Polymers LLC (“CC Polymers”), a newly formed joint venture between Alpek, S.A.B. de C.V. (“Alpek”), Indorama Ventures Holdings LP (“Indorama”) a subsidiary of Indorama Ventures public company limited, and Far Eastern Investment (Holding) Limited (“Far Eastern”), has entered into an asset purchase agreement with M&G USA Corp. and its affiliated debtors (“M&G”) whereby CC Polymers will acquire the integrated PTA-PET plant currently under construction in Corpus Christi, Texas (the “Corpus Christi Project”), certain M&G intellectual property, and a desalination/boiler plant providing water and steam to the Corpus Christi Project. The purchase agreement provides M&G with a binding bid of $1.125 billion in cash and other capital contributions. (Map Location)
    • Superior Weighting Products is developing an $18 million Barite processing plant and has leased land from the Corpus Christi Port Authority within the Rincon Industrial Park. Upon completion they will create up to 20 new jobs within the region. Superior Weighted Products specializes in high quality chemicals including mud chemicals used in oil and gas exploration.     • OxyChem, in San Patricio County, is operating their $70 million propane export facility at the former Naval Station Ingleside site recently acquired from the Port of Corpus Christi. It is called the Oxy Ingleside Energy Center. Additionally, Oxy is operating their new ethylene facility adjacent to their present site. This project will invest over $1.3 billion with an additional 140 full-time jobs. (Map Location)
    • TexStar LyondellBasell has completed construction of their $500 million expansion of their ethylene production facility.  The Corpus Christi site, which typically has 300 employees and contractors on site, spends almost $43 million annually with local vendors (Map Location)
    • Magellan Midstream’s new condensate splitter plant is a $400M investment which has created 110 jobs resulting in annual payroll of $7,800,000. The project also includes construction of more than one million barrels of storage, dock improvements and two additional truck rack bays at Magellan’s terminal as well as pipeline connectivity between Magellan’s terminal and Trafigura AG’s nearby facility. The splitter will be capable of processing 50,000 barrels per day of condensate.  (Map Location)
    • Celanese is continuing construction on their $150 million compounding facility at their Bishop location which will result in 106 jobs. (Map Location)
  • Baker Hughes has completed its $22 million, 140,000 square foot facility on Clarkwood Road and State Highway 44. They have relocated 40 employees and have added 75 new positions.
  • voestalpine Texas, developed $700M in new facility, created 179 new jobs with annual payroll of $9,150,000 (Map Location)
  • TPCO America, has completed their phase 1 project which is the seamless pipe finishing plant. Phase 2 is under construction and will be completed in 2018.  It will contain 1.3 million square feet of manufacturing space. Upon completion, TPCO anticipates creating up to 400 new jobs in the region and have a total investment of $1.3 billion.(Map Location)
